Fear Within ME

I wanted to scream the truth But afraid to flee from you Yet, you were my confidant My only friend In the shadows of my mistakes I found your radiance and forgiveness You were the one who comforted me Then the walls came crashing down I am still anxious That in the shadows, you still lurk Awaiting to harm me While the moon is my silent protector The fear within me (a constant reminder) Of the past regrets, the mistakes I have made A spark erupts within me While I unleash a flood of trepidation Constantly watching my back Walking faster, my heart racing Although still in the light of day, My darkest hour of affliction has come Some how I got into this mess In this pit, I am forever a prisoner to No matter how hard I claw I can’t escape this dilemma Finding comfort in my sweet closet My only sanctuary from this world While the fears still consume me I find my strength I am no longer afraid I am ready to take up my responsibility Taking the fall, protecting my blood Finally fearless, while my defenses Come crashing down
