Fearful Words

It is apart of me

It crawls underneath my skin

my lips slam close to stop the attempted escape

my stomach fight with clenched invisible fists

It is apart of me

It sends shutters through my body

my legs held captive within a cage

my teeth clatter as if trying to bite through the dark bonds

It is apart of me

It slithers up my throat

my tongue starts to run

my lips pried open by the words I couldn't say

Now they are here

and they are here to stay

It is apart of me

But it is not all of me

The bonds are gone

Now I am finally free
