Fearing the Unknown
Up and down, through life I go,
Soaring amongst the highs, and diving through the lows
Unsure of the elevation; if anyone ever really knows
All the stress and temptation,
Causes me a lack of motivation
Nevertheless, not far behind,
I’m feeling too strung out;
Like I’m losing my mind
Repeatedly questioning what this world is about
Finding one’s place,
Almost feels like a race
Searching until time runs out;
Meanwhile, fear of the unknown, gives me doubt
But as life finally unfolds,
You’re given chances to be bold
Risk it, chance it,
Or you’ll never know if you would’ve made it
Success comes through failure;
All a matter of trial and error
And as far as I’ve come along,
I’m happy for all of the things I’ve done wrong
If I never experienced wrong, how would I know what’s correct?
If life was made up too neatly, it’d be perfect without any mess
If there was no mess, how would anyone appreciate their success?
It’s safe to say,
I’ve made it through a bit of mess
I hit the bottom, where there’s nothing less
And it’s safest to say,
I began to reach for nothing but the best
Upon this metaphoric ride of a roller coaster
I’m certain is where the thrill is bestowed
Traveling, absent of a guide of any sort
Maybe the entire world fears the unknown
It’s a waste of time awaiting the existence of some kind of “life connoisseur”
I’ll continue to expand my mind,
Accomplishing the highest of highs,
And occasionally visiting the lowest of my lows,
Learning new lessons, that were somehow never shown
I get the most satisfaction out of making bad decisions
Because most other sources have been diminished
More than glad,
I will take on the task,
Of righting my own wrongs;
Life would be too dull,
Without the interruptions that come along
Getting through it,
Is far greater than going through it
And the feeling it brings,
Is the most rewarding
