Feathers
The sand is sifting slow and steady
My island drifting, I watch the eddies
Do without. Things
Don’t live without
Hope
My hope I won’t leave behind
Can’t live without
It is a thing with feathers, so Dickinson says
Feathers so I can fly away
Leaving sand sifting slow and steady
Winging away from swirling eddies
