February 14th

Rest easy beautiful souls because after that day, no one feels whole

We all have our own stories to share, but the sound of a gun will still be there

Heavy hearts

How to we heal

It’s unbelievable that this is even real

We woke up that morning complaining about a test

No valentines

Maybe no rest

supposed to be enjoying the day

And he left us with no words to say

Just trembling souls who wish for his pain

Who wish for justice served

Prevention earned

And victims to heal

Emptiness flies through the halls

A piece broken in us all

How do we repair, how do we erase the despair

How do we go on to smile and laugh, knowing what happened in our past

Because it happened here in our home

2:35 February 14,2018  will always be set in stone

Because at the end of the day

The community is always together in every way

In the city of love, 17 angles watch from up above

Because Douglas is strong

Douglas is a place where I always belong

And parkland is my home

It’s all I’ve ever known

We will heal, positive and tall

We will love, passionate with all

We will grow,

because in the face of evil, we are proud to be eagles
