It isn't the way you stare

Or the way you flip your hair

It isn't the way you smile

Or the way you hike another mile

It isn't the way you dress

Or how you look when you're a mess

It isn't your stupid jokes

Or the way you fill me up with hope

It isn't the way you walk

Or the way you talk

It's the way you strive to be the best

Even if it feels like you're being shot in the chest

It's the way you put others before yourself

And the way you bring happiness to people like myself

It's the way you laugh that makes the world spin

It's the kindness of your heart and the warmth of your smile

That makes everything worth that extra mile
