Feed Me

I'm hungry And though there is so much to choose from, It's just not enough i see what the world offers And yes, it is rather tempting But if I consume in my body that which is of worldly satisfaction Those things will be dead in me Which brings about regurgitation And I'll still be hungry due to deprivation So, I'm on a mission I want nothing that's quick or convenient The snacks in that category will hold me over until But what I'm after is a full course meal, that which fulfills So, show me to the Way 'cause I'm after the Truth Guide me to the Life Take me to the True Vine 'cause I desire fruit My body is weak from the pangs of my hunger Lust, lies, deceit? Is this what you got for me? That's not what I need From that tree, I refuse to eat Better is a dinner full of love and herbs Rather than a feast with a fatted calf and hateful words I am hungry Hungry for True food Lord, I hunger for You Though I have the ability to feed on junk, I have grown accustomed to true nourishment Lord, feed me I don't want evil, but give me righteousness I don't want lies, but give me truth I've searched all over, but no one has it on their menu What I need I can only get from You Lord, feed me I'm like a new born baby that cries when she hungers So when she screams, I'll translate "Daddy, I'm hungry, so feed me." You are the pure milk of salvation And in You, I find true fulfillment That I might grow in truth and godliness You are the organic fruit I met a man named Paul, and he introduced me to something new We went to a place called Galatia, and behold, I found You I didn't even have to place my order What I wanted was clear Paul told me, "Jade, we only serve life here." "Help yourself", he said, "enjoy the fruit." So I bowed my head to give thanks for the food Lord, thank You for patience, kindness, and this delicious truth Thank You for faithfulness, love , joy, and peace too You have fed my hungry soul, and I have to admit, I was seeking full satisfaction But I am never satisfied, only craving more Matter fact, can I get a platter to go? Enough for me and my children's children and their children's soul? When I go home, I'll keep in remembrance, that sin is like that of junk food It's so sweet, so good, but its sickening because I'm fed by You But You gave me honey Sweet to the taste, dripping from the honeycomb As wisdom is to my spirit, so delightful to my soul Lord, thank You for the hands that prepared it Yes, I am speaking of You I just say thank You In a sense that I've got all I need, I am certainly satisfied But because I want more of Your goodness, Your mercy, Your grace, You've enhanced my appetite Real talk, You are enough More than enough Just keep feeding me

This is a Christian poem that I wrote while on a 21 day Daniel fast.
