That Feeling
There's a certain feeling you get,
When you are faced with the blackness,
Your eyes bug out as you try to comprehend,
Just exactly what is going on.
The cold tendrils snake along your body,
A cold sweat drips down your forehead,
Your cracked lips are flaked white,
Rapid blinks do nothing to make it a dream,
Shivers run up your spine,
And all you want to do is run.
You can't as fear shuts down your limbs,
Lead fills your chest and you realize,
That it isn't a dream, that it is real,
And it is in fact in front of your eyes,
Cold steel gleam in the dark,
Hacking away at that body that once was your friend,
The ropes chaff your body as you struggle silently,
Praying to God that someone will save you,
But that help never comes.
The tears come quickly when you are faced with the smiling blade,
And you feel that feeling come take you,
The fear settles in your bones.
Begging, begging, "Please let me go..."
That feeling,
Fear.
