This Feeling

why can't

I make this feeling die

the same way my feelings of hope and happiness had died

it's the same feeling that would conjure up in my chest

before I let someone beyond my concrete walls

before I let someone step foor into my delicate mind

before I let someone cradle me saying "It will be okay"

before I let someone promise me the universe

and they only gave me a speck of dust

that couldn't even spark the Big Bang

this feeling brings back aching memories

of the happiness that swirled before the ominous storm came

of the potential clouds that would form in my hear later to be disbanded

of everything that I had felt

before someone else made their mark in my life

walking out with a piece of me

and leaving me with a piece of nothing

I hate this feeling

yet I enjoy it

either way

I want it to end
