This feeling called love
From the beginning of our relationship,
I knew you were the one.
The only one.
We started out as friends.
But we grew into so much more than that.
As the days went by,
we gained a connection that I had with no one other.
You and I understood one another.
We developed inside jokes that only we could understand.
You were the only one who could make me smile
until it hurt too much.
The only one who could make my tummy
ache from so much laughter.
I had never experienced this feeling.
It was new.
When I was falling apart,
you were there for me.
When I felt as if I had no one,
you were there for me.
When I needed you the most,
you were there for me.
But there were often times when,
I felt as if I was annoying you.
As if I was becoming a burden to you.
But that wasn’t your fault.
It was my own fault.
It was because of insecurity and believing that,
I wasn’t worth it.
While you already loved me for who I was,
I was still learning to love myself.
You were the one to teach me that
I was worth so much more than I let myself believe.
In the past I often kept everything to myself.
I built a wall that was unbreakable.
I would wear my heart on my cheek.
I would keep everything locked up because
I was scared of being vulnerable.
I was scared letting someone in.
That was until I met you.
Once I met you my world started spinning.
Everything changed.
Now I wear my heart on my sleeve.
I never keep anything to myself.
I let you know of all my worries.
I came to realize that this is a feeling called love.
That feeling we have created will never stop growing.
I’ll continue to love you until my very last breath.
Because I love you.
