Feeling fine

1 Peter 1:24-25

24 … “All flesh is as grass,
And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers,
And its flower falls away,
25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.”

Now, this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

Emptiness surrounding me ... no original thoughts

Myself in the way again showing his true color

Hungering to be free in my shackles caught

Resting in my den that I myself paid for

I have no regrets being close to worthless

I am feeling fine and have no excuse

Made my own bed and care a little less

I draw the line in my own abuse

I have all my attention in my losing battle

The part of me that’s winning spares no cost at all

The losing part just mentions as compromise rattles

My flesh from the beginning was destined to fall
