This Feeling of Numbness

Today is my last day of my high school career. In two days I will walk across a grand stage and cross into young adulthood. With this impending event Is a feeling of numbness that I can't really describe. I see my fellow peers enjoying each other's company, painting ceiling boards and laughing together. It's nice watching them, but I just can't help this feeling of being apart from them. That is contributing to my feeling of numbness. Could it be that this feeling is stemming from the fact that I did not form close relationships with my peers, and watching them have fun together is somewhat awkward for me? Could it also be that many of my peers are putting down the school of my choice and bragging about theirs? Probably. But I can't let that get to me. I've got to be confident in myself and be proud of the decision that I made. This feeling of numbness will go away, I'm sure. Because once I cross that stage, and throw up my cap with the other graduates, I'll have moved on. And I will spend my precious time with people that truly care for me. As long as I have the Lord by my side, and my amazing, supportive family next to me, I will be just fine. This feeling of numbness will gradually subside, and turn into a feeling of.... accomplishment, gratitude, relief; happiness, joyfulness, peace. A weight of my shoulders. It will be a feeling that will stay with me until I go home to my Heavenly Father.
