The Feeling of Unwantedness

I wonder if you know how it feels,

The overwhelming power of undying non-essentialness--

To be the wanted one and the reciever of an unfaltering loyalty;

But then being cast aside without a second glance.

My heart aches with the knowledge that the loyalty that once was felt is gone--

The "I want"s, 'I love it when"s, and the "I will never"s vanished.

How could I have been so careless not to see the unwavering truth from the start?

To think that you would want me.

Me, of all people.

I'm not worth anything to you, I never was.

I could blame you for all the pain I was caused;

But the truth is, nothing would change--

It was never you;

I was the one who was foolish, the naive idiot who believed.

I believed in a future that was never meant to be in the first place.
