Feeling the Weight

The cry of a mother that I’ve never heard

The hurt of a citizen whose lost a loved one

I have never known or never met

Yet I feel their heavy heartedness, weighing down on me

The emotions suffocate me like a tornado growing in my chest

Gasping for air, I reach for a pen and paper.

Emotions spill into words,

And I find my rest.
