Feelings

What if you would have told me

The feelings you were hiding

What if you would have told me

Would you and I be trying

Instead you kept your secrets in

Could I be what you were searching for

I wonder what we could have been

We could have been so much more

Everyone tried to tell us

But I did not want to believe it

I know you felt the same way

So you made yourself forget

What if you would have told me

The feelings you were denying

What if you would have told me

To our hearts would we still be lying

I always had this feeling

When I looked into your eyes

I couldn’t help but smile

Now that would be a lie

I am sorry I never told you

To see how our story ends

But my heart remains guarded

As we remain friends

What if I would have told you

The feelings I was hiding

What if I would have told you

Would you and I be trying
