Feelings in Black and White

I cry, For confusion For anger For self-esteem For loniness I smile, To keep the neighbours away To hide my insecurities To say “Hey I’m fine.” To keep you believing I laugh, So my voice doesn’t betray me So my consicience becomes clean So I forget my fears So I can fight back my tears I sing, Hoping you would get my message Hoping you could notice my struggle Hoping you would intervene Hoping you could save me I write, Because you are my inspiration Because I’d hurt you if I said a word Because I’m tired and angry Because paper doesn’t judge me.
