Feelings we wasted
Spent so much time being scared of getting let down by you
I forgot to mention my feelings were true
My naive mind didn't grasp what was taking place
It couldn't keep up with the pace
When I finally thought I knew
What was going on between me and you
The truth was I had no fucking clue
You'd blank me
But thank me
For being there for you
I had not a clue what to do
Confused was a constant and only state and that's the truth
As I grew wiser and my defences grew
Then came my fear of falling for you
I try to ignore you,
avoidance at all cost.
But you started to look a little lost.
So I was there again whether I wanted to be or not
I hated the fact that I already cared a lot.
Time went on and things happened, but never changed
I didn't understand why it was all still the same
My eyes were drawn to you in a crowded room
How is it possible to mix love and doom?
You were a beautiful mystery that no one could solve
To this day I don't know how you felt about me
But then I realised my feelings could be sumed up in a familiar three
My feelings were wasted that's for sure
Not on you
But on the time of course
I loved but was it ever felt?
I cared but was needed?
I trusted but did it have meaning?
You fell in love...but not with me
I promise in some ways it made me so happy
I wanted you to have the best
And she obviously passed the test
But it hurt and I broke
Watching it all go down in smoke
But I still love you and probably always will
I just wish I knew how you feel still
I guess it was love that I tasted
It's a pity all those feelings were wasted
