Feet of Clay

Feet of Clay

Most of my hero’s have crumbled and died

And not died and crumbled.

Feet of clay or unrealistic expectations?

Not a single one except those that died young *

I don’t rhyme and I don’t care

Once you know they have feet of clay

It doesn’t matter anymore

Do your best and push on

Try not to look back.

Push on and do your best

Don’t ever give up

And never give in.

We build walls and embrace facades

So we don’t have to face reality.

How long can you keep it up?

Until the next drink

And then it blurs and pushed back away

Again.

Some come to grips

But most wrestle a lifetime

With our past

Do what we must

Because we’re strong and driven.

No,no,no its rather cause we’re weak

And have no other path

Yes and yes indeed

Even statues have feet of clay.
