The Feild Trip

As I sit here now

During this rainstorm

I think of the feild trip

I had with you

The clouds hovered in the sky

Ready to break

But they held off until our group started walking back

We were told to run indoors

And most did

Exept for a handful who stayed back to enjoy

The terrifying beauty of a storm

As i watched you smile up at the clouds

I suprised myself by not running over

And kissing you

Just as we got under the roof rain poured out

And we had to stay indoors

But i was fine because

I was closer to you

The game we played involved choosing a partener

And grabbing hands as you ran to the safespot

After every new round

And you chose me!

Oh, when we touched hands could've sworn

That lighting hit me

I don't know what you felt that day

With your bashful smile and clear blue eyes

But i know what i did

So much more happened to me than i can put into words

Even watching your face go red after you slipped

In the rainsoaked floor

Made me want to just kiss you right there

But now after that day

You show nothing

Not even a glance

And i wonder if its just in my head

An imaginary romace

I see you day after day

And not even a wave

Comes my way

So i sit here now wondering what happens next

Will you give me a hint

Or just leave me guessing

Like ive been doing for so long

I think this all

As i sit here now

During this rainstorm

Thinking of the feild trip

I had with you
