The Felis Catus With The Red Oval Eyes

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,

Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore-

While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,

As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

“ ‘Tis some visiter,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door-

Only this and nothing more.

I went back to my room to lay on my back

when I heard a claw on my chamber door.

I got up to check expecting to see a rat,

but I saw nothing.

As I was about to close my chamber door,

I saw two pair of ovals close to each other

about one and a half inch apart.

They were red with a black number one

in the middle.

I looked closer but could not figure out

the shape or creature in front of me.

I closed and locked my chamber door,

went into my room to get my lantern. But,

As I was about to do a ninety degree turn,

I saw another pair of ovals just like the

ones in front of my chamber door. They

were red with the number ones in the

middle of each of them.

My lantern was still turned off.

So, I could not see the creature in front of me.

I did a whole three sixty degree turn around my

room and all I saw were pairs of red ovals.

And I still could not see the shape or creature

in front of me.

I turn on my lantern, and the bright light

blinds my eyes, so I could not see for a

quick ten seconds. When I recovered my

eye sight, there were no more red ovals in

front of me. But,

I saw black creatures in front of me.

I looked closely at the creatures and

I realized that they were all

Felis catus.

I tried to escape but I could not.

I closed my eyes and opened my

eyes but when I did that, it seemed

as if the Felis catus got bigger each

time I closed my eyes.

When I finally escaped the Felis catus

in my room, I went to my chamber door

and opened the door to find that one Felis

catus still kneeling on my door step.

Only it is now bigger.

I looked at the Felis catus and it

looked me back in the eye.

It pulled out its tongue and its oval

eyes turned from red to orange to

yellow to green and then finally to

black.

All except for blue and white.

Even though I could not see It,

It slowly stood up and ambled away.

While it ambled, the body stretched

longer and longer and longer and longer...

I woke up from my dream, rubbed my eyes and opened them, but all was dark.
