Fell

I'm not a fan of falling,

Tripping over compliments is not my calling,

Your hands reached out: pushed me,

Your touch too soft to hold onto,

The descent shushes me,

I was too easily sold, so trusting.

And now I'm falling

There's no time for stalling

Because reality is creeping up towards me,

The ground is closer as I land in between

Broken unsound, with nowhere to go but down.

I fell before,

Hand missed the doorknob,

Feet tripped over themselves,

I was knocked off my shelves,

Like a rotten vegetable I got thrown out,

And so sing with me; grown men shout:

And now I'm falling

There's no time for stalling

Because reality is creeping up towards me,

The ground is closer as I land in between

Broken unsound, with nowhere to go but down.

My knees have been scarred,

and now I've got bars on my windows,

My face has been marred,

Don't call me pretty I don't need your pity

And I don't need your push

Because I fell before,

I know the floor.

And unless you've fallen too,

There's no way I'm falling for you.
