"Feminism"
Feminism.
It’s a word we all know too well.
Oh, sooo...
You’re a feminist?
How could one NOT be?
I can’t even bear to turn on the news anymore.
Society is constructed such that men,
Are dominant.
But what about the women?
What about the other fifty percent of the world,
That’s being silenced by cocks getting shoved down their throats.
Feeling voiceless while being cursed at, and abused.
I slide into my bed every night,
Tensed.
Feeling the weight of my rapists body
Pushing on me so hard
I can’t move,
breathe,
speak.
Everytime I sip from a glass,
I feel his lips.
His overly moist,
slimey,
sticky lips,
Pressing
On my passed-out body.
Little things have gotten unbearable
It’s hard for me to even go out,
The sight of a half naked mans body
Sends a surge of energy through me,
Making my vision blurry.
Ohh..
Here we go again,
Another #MeToo moment.
I’m just tired.
Tired of being controlled by experiences no one should go through.
Tired of waking up in a sweat,
Overcome by the trauma that still haunts me.
Sometimes I make the mistake of walking at night,
At the temperature at when I was raped.
I am overcome with emotions,
My body can't process them all.
I run indoors for comfort.
But wait,
I can't move.
I can't breathe.
I can feel him again.
I feel his breathing on my neck.
I feel him grabbing hold of my jeans.
Yup.
Just like they taught them on PornHub.
Good job internet!
Good job rap culture!
Best part of my experience?
My rapist was my best friend.
Came over my house dozens of times,
Shared secrets I still haven't told anyone.
We even went to the same school together!
Would you believe!
My favorite school I ever went to!
Yeah,
Well,
I had to drop out of that school.
You know why?
EVERYONE refused to believe that I was raped.
Decided to call me “sloppy seconds” instead.
Decided to think of me as a cheater,
A major hoe.
Guess that was easier?
Guess it was easier for everyone except me,
Now the victims in pain again.
And who’s here to help the rape victim?
Oh! Of course!
The feminists!
I forgot..
The feminists are only feminists when it's cool to be one.
Where are all of the feminists now?
Don't you see me hurting?
Don't you see us all hurting?
All one in five women that are hurting from being victims of rape?
Don't all of my hipster, urban outfitter friends see me?
Don't they think to question their ongoing friendship with my rapist?
No.
Instead, they question their relationship with me.
A drunk slut.
