Fences

Nobody ever protected me ,so I built a fence.

Couldn’t look at no man after what he did to me.

Laying in my bed trying to put a fence between me and that horrible man.

I wish I could build a fence in my pants to bury my past.

But would that even fix me?

I can only try to move on and try to remain strong.

Dark nights wishing I had a mom to protect me!

I was left in the room alone to defend for myself .

The  image of me building up this great and tough fence in my head blocked out the image as he climbed in between my legs.

Blood dripping down my thighs as I cried feeling nothing but lonely, empty, deprived.

Sweat dripping down my forehead, and stains in my palms as if...

I was actually building a fence to protect myself!

Instead I was just digging into him wishing it was over with.

Now what is the result?

I’m rusted after he violated and hurt me repeatedly.

I feel like shit keep having to go through the same trauma and pain over and over again.

Why didn't he value my steel and silver in my yard without breaking in?

I would not be able to trust or let a man in again.
