the fences

memes of bee movie and arthur's fist

conservative politicians and twitter flips

the land i am in deems a laughingstock

while immigrants stir the melting pot.

i dug the holes of the holy saints

in it resides the ugly truth in every picture it paints.

i played the role of plato's hidden cave dweller

escaping through the words of false fortune tellers

i am more aware of what is happening

the truth of unconscious fallacy quickly unwrapping

itself in its confusion as i search for my identity

with vigorous waves heating my entity

the world sweeps through hell while we worship for our heavens

swallowed us whole from the mouth of kraken

my two eyes then witness blood spilling from the tv news

with the tell tale hearts in a nation of myriad blues

history repeats and i have seen them all

while the curtains pull, one man sends the call

the call of departure, to leave our movements

let the hard rain fall through ambers of translucent

i believe that this nation will amend its centuries old wounds

while we relive through the purity of the coccoons

as long as we fall and face through treacherous torture

we will unite as one in the future

and i, become of one conscious

with my blood so serene

and that is what i learned and grew from two-thousand and sixteen.
