On a Ferry

We were on a ferry

I love being on the ocean

It’s my happy place

The wind in my hair

Sun on my skin

Staring into the horizon

Watching the water move

Looking for dolphins

In awe of nature’s beauty

Then you pulled me in close

You confessed “I’m in love with you”

In that moment

Everything disappeared

You’re all I saw

You’re all I felt

Your lips on mine

I couldn’t stop

Nothing else mattered

But me and you

I forgot where we were

I was in love with you too

You became my new happy place

And yet, we were on a ferry
