Fervent Wolf

Cold and calculating

My heart beats but makes no sound

The silence is deafening

Its good no one is around

A wolf without a pack

An infection without a host

I fight the circumstance

Hoping I’ll go further than most

Hills morph into mountains

I try to climb alone

An abstract avalanche devastates

I can’t do this on my own

I view with open eyes

At what lays ahead

I try, just for once,

To see with my heart instead

The sky is different colors

Not different shades of blue

I remind myself in darkness

That black’s a color too.

Perfection is perception,

A perspective, scattered around.

They made up an idea

They knew couldn’t be found.

The tear falls own the ground

I shake the dirt off my fur

The avalanche will end

Its occurrence will be a blur.

My eyes aimed straight ahead,

I hold my head up high

I am strong, I am a wolf

For that, I won’t apologize

Who I am isn’t easy

Then again, neither is life

I tell myself I’m a wolf

And I overcome every strife.
