Fervor of the Eye

Fury consumes me -
Avert gaze, only to ignore
Ignore the haze of fervor
And my misfortune strikes
Strikes against me
And the light portrays
Oh how it is it paints
The fantastic contours of your face
Your face lost once, long ago
Long once ago I saw in your soul
Your soul through those eyes
Hidden behind a facade
A facade I couldn't break through
Break through the fury?
The fury I can't refuse!
I can't refuse the truth
The truth I never saw
Never saw tears in your eyes
In your eyes, this night
This night I finally saw
Finally saw the compassion
Compassion displayed by tears
Tears that I know show
Show me your last love
Love I've lost
