Fetters

Dear World,

Why do people always choose to hate

Because someone isn’t their race

Because they aren’t the right weight

Because of the dreams someone wants to chase

Why can’t you dream anymore

Without being put down

because they are afraid to open the door

But the one who does nothing always wears the crown

Why are we persecuted

For believing in something different than you

In fear of what will happen, we choose to stay mute

Injustice just because it is something you don’t pursue

There’s no such thing as a perfect world

But that’s not an excuse for not making it better

Don’t let one voice be unheard

Let your thoughts be free from the fetters
