Fickle

Happiness is fickle,

Like a candle that slowly dwindles.

One mere whisper of a breeze could flick the fire away

Like day turning into night.

Like sight turning into blindness.

I’ve been blind for much of my time.

Blind to joy, blind to life.

Eyes blocked by a wall of wax,

Wondering when it will be melted by the flame
