Without makeup,

Without designer clothes,

Without fancy, expensive shoes,

What do you see?

Is it me?

See I don’t need these things to be me.

I’m just me,

Without the looks,

without the links,

without the money.

I see something bigger

than the friends that claim to be,

or the tags that stick to me.

I see honest,

Helpful,

Dedicated,

Strong,

Will-full,

Decisive,

Old-fashioned,

Passionate,

And

Emotional

In me.

Behind those glasses,

And that jacket.

I’m all of those things,

If not more,

Inside of ME.

If only I could be ME,

Around her and him,

And them.

Because all they see,

Is a filter full of fiction.
