Fight
Iron hardens to steel in each cell in every vein
Forming into an invincible chain
Willpower seeps into each chamber of the heart
Giving each the advantage, a little jumpstart
Words echo back, words like stupid, lazy, and slob
Each a stone on still water, but the ripples are building up
And with every moment that passes, more power is there
Causing the eyes glint with a dangerous, taunting dare
Bottling up soda and waiting for just the right shake
Then the cap will open and it will be all over the place
But one must be patient, the moment must be right
It could be in ten years, it could be tonight
It poisons the chain, the patience of red
Taking all that was good and rendering it dead
Left alone too long turns on itself
Try not to care, but it’s a hard thing to shelve
Finally one day, the words just slip out
And once the flood starts it doesn’t stop, truth will out
And it’s calm and understanding after the initial two fights
Eventually things will be better, Eventually things will be right
