fight. breathe. you.

Broken and bruised

Afraid and confused

Poetry taught me to fight.

To fight through the brokenness, to fight though the bruises, to fight through the fear and confusion. Poetry taught me to fight.

Sad and alone

Constantly wishing I was grown

Poetry taught me to breathe

To breathe through the sadness. The sadness that would over take, the sadness that would make my body quake with fear. The sadness that tricked me into thinking that I was alone and made me long for a life of me being grown in the future. Poetry taught me to breathe.

I learned to fight

And I learned to breathe.

And because of these two things it led me to you.

It lead me to find everything that I had ever been looking for my entire life.

It’s through you that I found a savior, a healer, a redeemer, a brother, a lover and friend.

You chased after me and poured your love out on me.

And now that I know you

All I ever want to do is fight for you.

All I ever want to do is breathe for you

and simply be.
