The Fight of Curves Misunderstood

I've had what you would you call grown woman curves since the day I left the womb. And even now that my womb has matured I find curves appearing in places I had no clue even existed. How unsettling is it to live in a world where the only universally accepted curve is the one that rides your face. I mean can we face it. This world is twisted, why should I help what God so beautifully created? Who cares what you think about the dimples my that ripple my hips...cellulite is that you call it? I mean why can't I walk into the store and find a pair of jeans that actually fit? The struggle is that what you call it? Just trying to figure out why the fit model is a whopping size 4, when the average American woman's size is approximately four sizes more. Nearly ruining my self image by ignoring all images bigger. Why is it there is no one that looks like me when I open a magazine or watch a commercial? I've been commercially abused, neglected... Everyday I relearn how to overcome the mirrors amusement. Cynical laughs at my muffin top, and the love handles that buckle down my back. What am I supposed to say? Go on mirror laugh? Sticks and stones don't break my bones, and laughs and words will never hurt me, least that's what my mom told me. So I've learned to pretend that your stick-figured stares and model-esq comparisons take no residency within. NO I DON'T WANT TO BE THIN. Silently rolling around in my head 'you are fearfully and wonderfully made' my friend. Violently reminding myself that all else apart from my creators thoughts ought to be dead. Forget it! Forget what they said. I stare in the mirror preaching to myself. Revitalize, your self girl. And for God's sake take off that black, it's not slimming its depressing. You are far from your funeral, so start living...apart from others opinions. Perhaps more attention and focus on my mind, filling it with sweet something's taken from the book of instructions -instead of focusing on my behind and whether or not it's your definition of fine would do me some good. At the end of the day, it's just the fight, of curves misunderstood.
