Fight the Fear from the Deep
In the depths, cold and dark,
Like a flame missing it’s spark,
I felt my courage drift away,
As the mighty waves hit the bay.
Terrified of the unknown,
Lost amongst the thing unshown,
Unanounced to all but me,
My horrid fear of the sea.
At it’s bay, I dare stand,
My sole fear, now at hand,
But in the water I realize,
This ocean is not my demise.
In fact, though I thought not at first,
These waves were no where near the worst,
Instead of my spirit being torn out from above,
I felt my heart filled with love.
I now can say I adore the sea,
As conquering my fear has taught me,
That things aren’t the same as in the first glance,
But are much more beautiful given the chance.
