The Fight For Funding
The meeting begins, to see which one crest
The important money from which they request
Lord of the Bleachers, Athletic Teacher
Ravishing with his enticing feature
The band’s protector, Fine Arts Director
Thought worthless at best, just mediocre
The one who gets funds is decided by
The one who rules all, that leader most high
Athletics is strong, successful and cool
They normally win; the best in high school
They are funded well, not under a spell
The coaches push them, they better excel
Or else fall in mud, and take a fat L
They have what they crave, there’s no need to dwell
Unlike the band, who can’t have hotels
Instead live on buses, foul things from hell
Fine arts must be skilled, and master their craft
Perfect and stunning and choreographed
No less will be taken, not good enough
Without the right setup, makes it more rough
They ask and they ask, Fundraisers galore
No matter how much, they always need more
We may never see how good they can be
Unless we rise up and show her our plea
Leader of both, she has not the smarts
Superintendent, she loves the fine arts
If only she knew, the state they are in
With funds they can try and finally win
She’s under a spell that fine arts is swell
Though they are as fragile as an eggshell
She funds athletics, knowing they’re flush
Reducing broke fine arts, straight down to mush
Let’s show her fine arts, requires some love
Fine arts will be something that we are proud of
