A Fighter of the Odds

I have always been a fighter of the odds

I'm stubborn and I want to have things my way

I hate feeling trapped everyday

I know I'm flawed

I get inspired to break my chains,

To prove myself wrong about not feeling like I am enough

Because I am tough

I fight through my pains

I want to be a physicist

And I am a female

I refuse to fail,

In my young innocence

To figure out how the universe,

Works will all of the forces

I have to take so many challenging courses

Sometimes it all makes me want to curse

But I refuse to join the dark side

I want to be able to stand strong on my own

I try my best, I try so hard I work myself to the bone

I do it because I have to know that I tried

Once I figure out that math problem it's the best feeling

Struggle, trouble, worry

And eyes gone blurry

Are what inspire me to break the ceiling
