The Fighter Pilot

A life’s dream,

Flying the planes of the future,

Oh! To tour engage the enemy at 15,000 feet!

BANG! BANG! LEFT ENGINE GONE!

Medals awarded, respect earned.

Promotions given, but life realized.

Family is all that’s left

When nothing goes right;

Life finally realized,

Too precious to waste;

Too precious to take.
