Fighting Back

Oh to have the tender touch of her hand upon my shoulder

That sweet hug on those never ending days

The calming effect of her voice to tell me everything would be okay

Her joy was contagious and could light up a room

We laughed we cried and all those lasting memoires abide

What took her was evil and is still on its path

It has tried to be stopped but continues in its wrath

From the day that we knew the cancer was there

Her days were numbered

And days became minutes before she heard the heavens sound

Death has no mercy on the ones we hold dear

Watching her die my biggest fear

As she fought the fight and took her final breath

It chooses its prey and attacks with no mercy

She fought it so hard but it wouldn’t let her go

The swords of the most intelligent were thrown at it but it didn’t help

No man in this time has yet to defeat it with every punch

But with my heart and soul no more destruction will it cause

It tears families apart limb from limb

Then it hits the next victim without blinking an eye

The more I learn the more I hate it

Each day I come closer to my final goal

To take this monster out coldly, and leave it no were to run

It isn’t all powerful and it won’t always win

So with all my might I will fight so it can no longer be able to seek revenge
