Fighting a fear that needed to be stopped

A time came where I was told I would have to do it

But I hated every second of it, there was just too much

Complete and utter craziness going on at the same time

Drive. I had to learn how to drive

Every time my parents told me I had to, I just refused

"For God's sake" I said, I'll do it some day, just not now.

Grandma and Grandpa even got in, asking when I would start

However, I eventually did it

I started to learn how to drive. It had to be done some day, so I just started.

"Just forget everything else and focus" I would tell myself

Karma would be good for me if I did this. I finally am facing my fear. Until it came to

My test.

Never have I been so worried about failure

Of course, if I failed I would feel even worse about it all

Practicing all those months had lead to one moment

Quitting was no longer an option for me, it simply had to be done

Reading the speedometer, watching other cars, make sure I don't crash

Surely I am going to fail this right?

Thankfully, I was wrong

Underneath my fears was part of me that actually found a way to defeat those fears

Verbally, I shouted in joy. Inside my head, I told myself

Wow, I can really face my fears. I actually did this. No crashes, no broken bones, no

X-rays. I learned that if something really needs to be done, I can do it.

Yet I told myself I couldn't for some crazy reason. I was scared. That was

'Zacly why I didn't drive in the first place. I conquered that fear though. It's gone now.
