Fighting with Fire
She tells a story.
A laugh, her whole body shakes.
She's beautiful.
She tells another story.
She was angry living it. Now she's just telling.
Even voice. For now, she's pushed it down.
Muse, baby, darling,
I would never want to be you.
I want to be with you, to speak, to see you close up and from a distance.
To take your perfect confidence and how you face the world with poise
And internalize it
I want to face the world with noise, tell them who I am, not be paralyzed and afraid. I want a sliver of your anger.
You tell a story.
It's word vomit, 2 sentences into a finsta caption. Pain. Late nights.
I want to be nearer. I want to be better.
I want a sliver of your courage.
All the times I stopped a word too soon, all the times I should have felt your anger.
I regret them distantly.
I feel too little, you feel
Too much.
We want an equilibrium. Inspire me.
Please,
let me inspire you.
