Filing the Silence
Freedom rings through its body
Bouncing off every corner until there is complete silence
Silent enough to hear the cries of children
Children that still believe in innocent heroism
They fill their minds with capes of scarlet-- shielding heats from corruption-- and bue stars illuminating our way
They're dreamers
Dreaming of creating a beautiful world
One where our differencs bind us together like a crescent moon
Filing up the entirety of the night sky
With strength in diversity and faith in courage
And children still believe in superheros
Superheroes whose moral compass drives them to do what is right against all odds
And they kneel before us asking for our help
While we pledge to an uncertain world
A world where women are valued for their beauty and not their intellect
Beauty is not an action that can be controlled
Our value is within our character-- where all or caged birds fly free
There is power in the silky velvet advice mothers give
It is the idea that flows through our veins and hums a song in our chest
It is the differences that stand together
The bronze gold that shimmers off our bodies
And the passion that fills our eyes
Because we stand in ignorane when we stand alone
It is togetherness that makes us whole
Standing side by side in the face of chaos
We give their deaths a meaning
Sending love through our actions
And fighting hate through our words
We use our voice in the empty silence
