The Filter Called Society
I am a gentleman in the eyes of society.
But a hedon in the eyes of my lover.
I am a genius in the eyes of society.
But a crackpot fool in the eyes of my peers.
I am a saint in the eyes of society.
But a sinner in the eyes of any God.
Society wears a veil.
A filter, of sorts, that blots out the dark.
All the filth is brushed aside.
If only to make the light so stark.
If the filter was missing, I shudder to think.
That no one would be left without a dirty mark.
