Filterless Me
Fresh, Inocent, True, Clean, Filterless.
A post a day, for a week, of a filterless me, would look like this;
Day One I am dressed to the nines in my finest pajamas, teeth unbrushed, makeup washed off, and my hair is messily plopped on the top of my head. I am in my bed on a Monday morning. Today the caption reads, "I never wanna leave this bed... Maroon Five"
Day Two is a photo of me with 15 months of experience under my belt. I am chunky and small and clueless. This look took hours to accomplish because I couldn't stop eating the props. Today the words that crawled under this picture say, "When did I stop drawing the Sun in the corner of all my masterpieces?"
Day Three is twelve girls in a line. We are dressed in our home uniforms and ready to play our rivals. The whole gym stares at the flag as we listen to the Stars Spangled Banner. Dribbling under the photo, the caption is, "We're all in this together... High School Musical"
Day Four is the studious me. I am cramming for the Friday exams at my desk for hours. This picture looks similar to Monday's but somehow it gives you a boost of exhaustion. The caption wearily reads, "Studying my life away."
Day Five is finally Friday and to celebrate, my best friend and I try to immitate the perfect trampoline picture. Our hair is filled with static , our legs are bent and our arms are straight up. We were not successful, but we have plenty of Fridays to keep trying. The words practically jump off the post as you read, "In life, it's not where you go- it's who you travel with."
Day Six I wake up way too early to stay waiting tables way too late. After a long day at work, I ask the hansome and very flirty barista for a drink. He makes me a caramel- coconut latte with an elephant on it. As I sip away at the elephant's trunk he steals a picture of my lips on the cup and writes, "Isn't she beautiful? The elephant, I mean."
Day Seven is Sunday. Sunday used to be church and religion classes, but I grew older and now it is skiing. So today I take a picture of the tips of my skis on a chairlift. The caption carves my pictures the way my skis carve the mountain, "Lord, thank you for giving me the health and ability to ski, to work, to learn, to age, and to wake up every morning."
That is a week of filterless me.
