The Filter's Duty
My skin doesn't quite reflect the apperence of beauty.
And it's taking over.
Because to see my true beauty without any filter,
would be like finding a four leaf clover.
Because even with the ligting so perfect,
And the camera angled just right,
We don't hesitate to add just a subtle filter to get the picture more likes.
And It's all just the hype.
We even stop dead in our tracks to make sure it's filtered just right.
But, what would it be like if a filter was never created?
What if all the dark spots and scars could never be faded?
Now THAT ... is true beauty.
But see, it would never change because these "filters" have a duty.
To show us that just with a click it will bring out the false perception of inner beauty.
But, if adding a filter is what makes your picture stand out,
well then you're getting the wrong attention from the wrong type of crowd.
And when people see you in person,
THEN, where is your filter?
Be the beauty that's so rare,
that hashtag #nofilter.
