Final Camp Fire
Trees surround
A field of waving grass
Stars wink
In the dark of the night
Smoke
Moving freely through the twilight
Filling campers’ noses
Voices blend
Softly in beautiful harmony
Ash dances
To the sky
On the music
Warmth
Seeps into everyone chasing
The cold breeze away
Friends gather
Around the glow
Where a cross stands
Mighty and tall
Watching
Over them all
The fire is laughing and dancing
In colors of red
Orange and Yellow
Crackle
Pop
Laughter and Love form
The bonds that will never fade
The trees will
Wave
Good-bye
The fire will slowly fade
As the campers leave
Nature will whisper one more thing
As the end has come
See you again next year
