Final Goodbye

Dear Younger self,
Say Goodbye.
he’s not there
His warm smile,
Imprinted in my mind.
His chair sits empty,
At the dining room table.
His joyous raspy voice,
Is replaced with silence.
His coffee mug,
collects dust in the cupboard.
The sweet yet manly smell of cologne,
Remains in my nostrils.
His chiseled jaw,
Round rosy cheeks,
His round pudgy face,
with glasses too tight.
His reflection still appears in the bathroom mirror.
I love you.
Can you hear me?
No he's a world away
What happened to daddy's girl
He said he would never leave
And he didn't
He was taken.
I love you daddy
I said
Daddy loves you
He replied
I guess that was our final goodbye.
