Final Meeting


For so long I've waited.

For so long time has stretched,

and soon they'll live among me,

 

They've always known I gaze from above,

staring down with all my eyes.

They've never been able to reach high and greet.

 

For a brief moment they were here, their fingers brushed mine.

Then they fell back to dirt, faster than they came.

Now they float, just out of my reach.

 

My heart longs for their presence again, 

and they'll show themselves to me again.

On that day they will meet the last god.

The god of the stars.
