The Final Rest

When all the worlds light burns out One flicker more remains Left behind by a mad man Dressed in his wedding suit Lying awake at the darkest hour The moon perched on his window pane The mad man rocks in his chair When morning light comes up again He pauses to say goodbye to the moon Sees his beloved in thethe picture frame Then he tilts his head back Closing his eyes And taking his final rest.
