The Final Showdown

The final showdown was based on time

So before my race, I drank some Gatorade Prime

I believed it would help me get my best time

As I started to get into the zone for my race

My heart my beating at a good pace

As I climbed onto the block

I saw my name on the clock

I really wanted to make it to State

And I knew it wasn't too late

As I dove off the block and flew through the air

I knew I didn't have a millisecond to spare

I was ready to try my best

It really was the ultimate test

As I got to the wall

I realized that I could do it all

In my mind, I was the best of them all

I felt even faster than Olympic swimmer Anita Nall

After the race was done

I realized I had won

As I got out of the water

My father yelled, "That's my daughter!"

It wasn't until he asked me to warm down

That I realized I had won the final showdown
