The Final Step

Stuck at the edge of the precipice, my mind's made up. I accept that we will never be one again. Lost, is that familiar place, where our eyes once met. In the moment was all we ever had left. The past was best forgiven, never forgotten. We moved on, we as one, two hearts beating. Two souls knowing that we'd lose our way, that good things never last, are all but rotten. Standing in this frigid air, I've lost my sight. I see no future, only sensing the fall that's on it's way. Cold and lonely as I am, I take the next step, I take it without knowing where this ends.

I've a past that will shock you. So much has gone on in such a short time. Tough and resilient, I don't give up, I carry on.
